A young woman in Fond du Lac recently gave birth to a baby girl, and named her Vala. It happens that she read my weblog and liked the name. How cool is that. It means 'singled out.' There is also a Nowegian base meaning 'chosen one.' Here is a nice photo of our Vala. She is the NICEST dog.
