Insectarium

New Orleans boasts one of the largest insectariums in the country. It's a great place to spend the afternoon, especially when it's 100 degrees outside:)

voodoo and hauntings

Of course, New Orleans is said to be the most haunted city in the country. I can't speak for that, but I will say the folklore and the legends are very entertaining. Here are some more pics from our road trip.

Happy Father's Day to our Dads

My goodness...we have been blessed with great Dads (on both sides) for generations. We are so grateful. A very Happy Father's Day to the Dads who make such a difference in the lives of their kids everyday:)

Nashville pics here...

Since we have so many new pictures, I'll start with the Nashville photos. Also, a big congratulations go out to Elise and James who are expecting their first child in early December. We couldn't be happier for them:) Baby bump is evident in first photo.

home again

We've arrived safely home, after 2,400 miles around the country. We have many pictures and some great stories, but they'll have to wait. I'm headed out the door for a 12 hour work day, jumping right back into the usual schedule. Will try to update soon.

off we go

The time has come for our road trip! Thanks to Paul's friend from the Ford dealership, we have a big Ford Flex for the trip. It is a great vehicle for the ride, equipped with sun roofs and all the bells and whistles. We should be very comfortable. Dinner tonight will be chicken wings at one of Elise's favorite restaurants in Nashville. Can't wait.

Elise's gig

Elise sang for a princess themed birthday party for a friend's 5 year old. Looks like they all had fun! What a great gig...dress up and sing pretty...right up her alley:)

long time no blog

We're busy getting ready for our week in New Orleans, or rather 5 days there and a couple days with Elise in Nashville on the way. Work has been good, but with very long shifts as we're planning for our time away. Also, I want to congratulate co-worker and friend Kristin on the birth of baby Kylee, and also Liyah's cousin Stephanie on the birth of her baby Kylie:) Even more of a coincidence is that both the babies share the same middle name, Madison. One was born on May the 14th, and the other on the 21st. Kylie 1 was 8 pounds and 6 ounces, and Kylie 2 was 6 pounds and 8 ounces. They are just darling, and I'll get my first chance to babysit tomorrow night as Kristin is having her first night out, enjoying a ball game. Can't wait.
