Merry Christmas!

Thanks for following the 'goings on' of the Thelens and our extended family. Now most of my (should I say older, and less computer savvy) relatives are all on board on Facebook, so we keep updated that way through social media, and less time here on the blog. However, now and then I will post a few pictures, just because :D Miss Belle is now past 4, and Miss Charlotte is 2 1/2. Eva and Mike have been married for 4 months now, and everything else is much the same...work, work and more work, with the occasional vacation. Next year at this time, we hope for all the family to be in Paris and vicinity for the week following Christmas. We have a lot of planning and saving yet to get to that point. Blessings to all!

Tea in Madison!

Here are some lovely girls enjoying tea on a rare evening off. Only 4 more weeks and then Ellie is officially done with her first year. Otherwise, we are busy with summer wedding plans and a visit from my childhood friend Mary Jo.  Off to start the day with a hike through the Eldorado Marsh :)

Happy Easter!

We celebrated Easter today with the family. I'd like to send out birthday wishes to everyone in the family with a March birthday! So 'Happy Birthday' to Andy, Koko, Paul, Krissy and Elise. Also best wishes to Mary and Father Pat :)  We celebrated my birthday today with a Mexican dinner, and I received the neatest gifts and flowers. Tonight we head back to Madison to take Ellie for her final 6 weeks of her first year. The year has flown by!

Not long until spring:)

I have just begun getting seed catalogs. I don't know why they hold such a fascination and pleasure for me. The anticipation of warmer weather and planning a garden is exciting.  Just as we are getting tired of the winter season, the seed catalogs arrive and bring a little sunshine:)  Won't be long until March...filled with many family birthdays...a favorite month of mine. Uploads today are a few random favorites. Miss Belle, Charlotte, Magnus and JP keep things interesting and fun.

Great start to 2013!

Wow, didn't realize I took such a hiatus from writing here. The blame lies with our new computer, I suppose. I think I am finally getting to understand it's many features. A little update for Mom and the Aunties...the last month has been super busy. For starters, we had a wonderful cruise in the western Caribbean. Weather was in the low 80's, and we enjoyed sailing and snorkeling during the shore excursions. It was truly hard to come back to single digits :(  Ellie had her wisdom teeth removed, and unfortunately developed an infection despite doing all she was told. She is still not able to play her sax, and since she has returned to Madison, this is very difficult for her. On the upside, she is officially a sophomore according to her credits. She is renting an apartment with a girlfriend in August, and will say good-bye to dorm life.  Eva is busy planning for her wedding, and has just ordered some 'save the date' refrigerator magnets. Miss Belle will be starting gymnastics in April, and Charlotte is busy talking up a storm, and also interested in the big potty already. It is unbelievable how fast they are growing up.
