opportunist

Came home at lunch to find this guy eating Henry's seeds which had fallen from his outside cage. He allowed me to get very close...wasn't afraid at all! He's growing fat for the winter:)

Mike...

Still waiting on the show pics, but have a couple of pics from Mike's concert. Signing up also today for the 'turkey trot' which starts early on Thanksgiving morning. This is a great fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA, and this year they expect more walkers/runners than last year. It begins at the High School and sign up is easily done online for anyone interested.

Enjoying this terrific weather:)

Yesterday we walked 2 times around the perimeter of Lakeside Park, which took about 1 1/2 hours. It was just beautiful and we had lots of other walkers and joggers for company. Henry spent most of the day outside as well. We've never (in ten years) had him out in November. Awesome! I'm busy today copying CDs for Paul's recording project of the adult choir. They have completed a CD with a variety of music, with Paul recording and engineering it, and James mastering the project in Nashville...many thanks to him. Elle and Eva are also featured instrumentalists. We will begin selling them soon for a fundraiser to help with costs for the choir's European trip next year. If I am going along, I have to do my part, so I'm working on copying 500 discs:) Taking a break however to run some errands for the rentals, and the usual 5 mile walk. I may wait for Elle, as she is now down to a 'normal' 8 hour day. She spent her first free evening last night making cranberry scones at Jon's(Conrad's)house:P It won't last too long though, as symphonic winds and jazz 1 begin for the season. Paul is busy every evening from now until the weekend shoring up the New Holstein musical. Mike is feeling an enormous relief after his successful recital, and Eva's long day begins at 11, so she's still in bed:) Off to start the day. I'd like to take a moment to thank Stanley here. Many years ago he gave me Guidepost's Daily Devotional, which I read religiously...no pun intended. It doesn't require a big time commitment, and it's a great way to begin each day:)

Great Sunday!

Wow what a great Sunday! It started with the usual rounds of masses and choirs, and then home to bake bars for Mike's senior recital and a blueberry cobbler for Mom's card club. Then off to meet the Manitowoc folks for Birdie, followed by Mike's recital at the Windhover Center for the Arts. I can't say enough how impressed I was at his abilities and his diverse choices in music. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never been to a student trombone recital, thinking it would be dull. Totally the opposite. What a terrific experience! The "Birdie" musical wrapped up as well to another packed house. While I don't have any performance photos yet, I'll post the lobby shots taken afterward. The cast party is next Friday. Of course, I have to mention a BIG win for the Pack on national TV, so the day ended in perfection!

Show a great success!

2 shows down, and 2 to go:) Reviews are all positive, and the cast is doing an excellent job! I will possibly have some photos from the musical tomorrow. So here's a cute one of Belle for today.

Cool pics from a bunch of places:)

After our walk, which was actually too COLD to enjoy, I received some nice pics from Elle's dance recital in May, and the Taste of Fond du Lac. Also Mike had some pics taken for his senior recital, thanks to Eva. Thought my cyber friends might enjoy them. P.S. Thanks to 'music parent' friend Chris for the Elle photos.

Musical weekend!

Dress rehearsal went very well yesterday, and the first show is tonight. Elle has many costume changes, so needs all types of nylons, spankies, strapless bras and other extras, and keeping everything in order and clean is a job. No wardrobe malfunctions! Today is just a partial school day, with the girl's volleyball team heading to state, so everyone is able to leave early. Paul and I and friends are attending 2 musical performances, and the Manitowoc folks will join us on Sunday. Mike's concert is also on Sunday at the Windhover, and New Holstein's show is coming up next weekend, so it's super busy around here. Finally the city came and picked up the yard full of leaves that we raked after the wind storm, so that's one less thing to worry about. Shifting gears a little today and cleaning the basement exercise room so it can be used this winter. We found 3 TVs down there from the rentals:P We'll probably keep the best one to watch while exercising. Off to work for the day now, and later we plan to hit the trails for our daily walk. The weather is still holding out nicely. Just have to worry about the hunters. Thanks to Elise for the cute pics of the day:)
