Off to Manitowoc today to have lunch with some high school friends, and then another evening concert at Buttermilk Park with the Austrian group and the symphonic band. Elle will be playing:) MJ will be spending the night, and tomorrow early we'll take her to Milwaukee to catch her plane back to Atlanta. Sounds like she had a nice time with her family 'up north' in the Waupaca area. Photo today is from the Chain of Lakes where her family visits.

Elise visited with college friend Stephanie and her 2 babies...it was very nice:) Later today we're attending the West Austrian Winds concert. Elle and some high school players are joining them. They are rehearsing right now, and then plan a pizza party before the performance tonight. Here's the info for the local folks who might want to come and enjoy the free concert.
The West Austrian Winds, a 50-piece youth band, performs a Mozart horn concerto, songs from “Mama Mia!” and selections by Handel, Wagner, Claude T. Smith and James Curnow. The group is touring the Midwest under the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in lower Michigan.

Yay for today!

We bought a high chair yesterday for Belle to use when she visits this week. Hopefully they will not have to drive through severe storms. Last night was frightening for the cities south of us. My niece Gretchen got 7 inches of rain in 1 hour in Oak Creek, and there was a lot of damage around Whitewater. Reminiscent of June of 2008. I'm working just 3 hours today, and then have 2 weeks off:) Can't wait.

Happy Hatch day Henry:)

Today we celebrate Henry's 9th. hatch day! He is quite a celeb bird in the area. He's been to all the schools in the district, as well as many nursing homes and hospitals. He is quite entertaining...he even has his own facebook profile:)

Ecumenical service

Paul played for a nice ecumenical service on Sunday at Pilgrim UCC, which was well attended. It featured a variety of jazz music and included a combo. Everyone in attendance really enjoyed the program. Pic is the from the program cover.

Ellie and I went grocery shopping early, and then ate southwestern chicken wraps in Lakeside Park, which was full of people enjoying the middle of summer. Later we plan to make some brownies to take to work, but we're taking a break to swim! Thanks to Elise for the new pics and video of Belle, who will be visiting us soon:)
